SOLD: LEFTY 1961 Rickenbacker Combo 450
Rickenbacker's first left handed guitar???

We currently have for sale what very well could be the first modern left handed guitar produced by Rickenbacker.
Its serial number dates manufacture to January 1961, exactly three years earlier than Paul McCartney's famous 4001S, which had been widely considered to be the first lefty they built.
The nut and one of the bridge height adjustment screws have been replaced, otherwise the guitar is original.
The upside down gold logo plate is original to the guitar, and is the only instance I have ever seen of a right handed logo being used on a left handed instrument. Tuners are original single line Kluson Deluxe.
Thick Combo depth body, with a square neck heel.

The case is original to the guitar. Lid markings show that there has never been a right handed guitar in this case.
The guitar has a great flat/wide neck profile, and sounds like Lennon's original 325 (he disconnected his middle pickup prior to recording at EMI...)
A rare, and historically significant lefty.
